REFLECTIVE JOURNAL ON FACE TO FACE TEACHING.
FACE TO FACE TEACHING
As a part of our B.Ed curriculum, we have to take 40 lesson plans. But during this corona period and due to the schools were shut down, we had to limit our classroom teaching to a computer screen. Thus we started our new internship programme on November 16, 2020 through online platform using the application Google meet
After the completion of peer teaching, I started face to face teaching on 23rd November, 2020. In face to face teaching, 10 lesson plans were there to be completed. Here also, due to the pandemic Corona and the schools were all shut down, our teaching was limited to a computer screen. I took the classes through an application, Google meet.I got 25 students from the school, Mayyanad H.S.S. I assigned one of my peer, Abhirami Das for helping me during the teaching process to present the videos and powerpoint presentations relating the topics I. took the chapters “Work, Energy and Power” and “Wave motion”. I divided the first chapter into 7 and the second one into 3. I used videos, pictures, activity cards, powerpoint presentation and charts as my teaching learning aids. The teachers who were assigned as my observers were Sajeena miss, our optional teacher and Renjini miss, our general teacher.
I was not so afraid to teach my students, because during school induction programme, I used to take class in those classes where their teacher was absent. But what made me sad was that the children didn’t respond during first two classes. Then I tried to be one of them and made them realized that there was no need to be afraid. After that , in the upcoming classes they were fully active and responded as I expected. I was very happy.
I felt myself as a good teacher during these 10 days. The days provided me some unforgettable and wonderful moments. So happy.
